DIY Wedding

Washington DC Wedding Photographer // Laura + Brian

Everything about this wedding was perfect.  So much love packed into two days.

Laura & Brian put a lot of thought into making their wedding day entirely their own and they did it so well. They decided that a traditional wedding day set up was not for them. Instead they split up the festivities up into two separate days. Because the US Navy has played such a big role in their lives and relationship, they wanted to be married on base in Washington D.C.

On the first day, Laura & Brian had a small private ceremony for family only in the tiny little chapel on base followed by an intimate dinner around the corner in Brian's family's home. The atmosphere was warm and joyful. Everyone was laughing and having a blast through the evening & I felt right at home among them. I couldn't have been more honored to be able to witness, capture and be a part of such a wonderful evening.

The following day Laura & Brian hosted an enormous BBQ Style Farm Reception at Smokey Glen Farm not far outside of D.C. There was corn hole, beer and BBQ Chicken, dancing and we even set up our own LETLOOSEBOOTH for everyone to enjoy. The afternoon was a blast and despite it being a little chilly, everyone had a great time!

Special thanks to Matt Coakley for second shooting with me. Some of his work is mixed in above.
