Dear couples,

We've recently received a few feeler questions about the Coronavirus and the effect on 2021-2022 weddings. We don't want to cause any further stress or panic (we know wedding planning is hard enough!) but thought it may be helpful to proactively put this statement together for all of our current & future clients.

In our over 13+ years of documenting weddings, we have never missed a single wedding. We love what we do for a living, and we realize how important wedding photography is to you. We would never intend on missing your wedding unless we had truly no other choice. This Coronavirus will not change our mission or drive behind why we do what we do.

When lockdowns happen, you’ll probably find us hunkered down in a pillow fort with the kids, plowing through my usual pile of editing from recent shoots, and above all else carrying on with life as usual as best we can with our heads held high.

There are two major scenarios and we wanted to review our policies and plans if any were to happen to you.

IF YOU POSTPONE YOUR WEDDING (Updated 5/2021):

While nobody wants this to happen, if it does, we will do our best to work with you on rescheduling. Now that most municipalities are back to being fully open our normal rebooking policy is back in effect as of 5/2021. That policy does state that there will be a rebooking fee but please always reach out so that we can further discuss your situation.

UPDATE (5/2021): ALL RESCHEDULING IN 2021-2022 WILL BE SUBJECT TO YOUR CONTRACT’S RESCHEDULING FEE.

Make sure you contact us FIRST before officially switching your wedding date to check our future availability so you don’t risk losing your retainer!

I’ve created a Calendly page, that you’ll find embedded at the bottom of this page, which contains the only possible open dates for 2021 through 2022 (besides weekdays, which actually may be your best chance to find availability with all of your currently booked vendors (plus, Thursdays are the new Friday IMO). Please get in touch if you’re willing to get married on a weekday (we promise, they’re great!) or are planning on moving your wedding to 2022.

Dates are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. This means SOFT HOLDS ARE NO LONGER PERMITTED. The Calendly calendar below should auto-update as new dates book up.

With that said, please understand that we have a full year plus of weddings and other work, so we may not be able to accommodate everyone. We promise we will do our absolute best if it comes to this to take care of everyone in the most fair way we are able.

In the case that we are already booked on a certain date and you would like to proceed in locking down that date with your venue, we may be able to provide an affiliate/associate photographer to shoot in our place. Rest assured, they would only be folks we’ve worked alongside in the past (many of whom are our regular second shooters) who share the same level of experience & style of capturing weddings who also have a very similar shooting style. We would also still be the ones editing all of your images in this scenario too!

IF YOU CANCEL OUTRIGHT

If you make the decision (or the decision is forced upon you), and you don't want to reschedule with us, or we are not available for your new wedding date, the contract we have stipulates that the retainer (and all monies paid up until that point) is non-refundable. We do this to protect ourselves since we often turn down work for the same dates and can only do so many weddings per year and rely on our income from photography to provide for our family. In these trying times, a small business is pushed to its limit emotionally and financially, and we're trying to navigate these moments with as much grace as possible. We realize this scenario would negatively affect us both, and wouldn’t want this happening to either one of us!

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

For our entire 13 years of our small business’ existence, we've done everything in our power to be helpful to our clients while providing the best possible level of photography. This will never change. Please be kind to others -- and most importantly, yourselfThe world may feel like chaos, but we will all get through this together. Wedding planning is hard & that’s why we’re here to serve you all equally.

We deeply hope neither of these scenarios applies to your wedding, but just wanted to be proactive and reach out to you and strive to always be as helpful as possible during these crazy & unprecedented times. If you have any other questions or need help navigating anything -- please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help.

Always know that we will always do our best to make sure we have exhausted every possible option and or resource we have to accommodate the changes happening to your wedding day and or circumstances surrounding it - we promise.

If you want to wait it out, we fully support that decision, too! Please be safe, stay positive and if you need a good eye-roll or laugh break, spend a few minutes on my new favorite website: dadjokegenerator.com

Please be safe, be kind & keep washing your hands.

Much Love,

Longbrook Photography
